Some times are ideal for forging ahead, and others are not. This week is not.
Feeling out of sorts is part of the human condition. Low energy happens to everyone. The feeling that somehow the timing-is-off happens as well.
For the last week or so, I have struggled with these conditions.
Lacking the drive to write is known as writer’s block. Most writers know to keep working through this despite the resistance. Therefore, I am attempting to do so by explaining my erratic blog posts as of late.
It’s a can’t-quite-identify-it kind of experience.
My brain is in a bit of a fog and as Curly used to say in the Three Stooges, “I’m tryin’ to think but nothin’ happens.”
I have done Julia Cameron’s morning pages for years. The 15-minute early morning brain dump she recommends comes with permission to write, “I don’t know what to write,” if that’s all that comes up.
This week I apply this to my blog.
I am certain I am not alone in this feeling of being blocked. I call it a phase. Stages and phases are inherent in life’s journey.
I hope that expressing this out loud will clear me enough to carry on. Giving myself permission to accept all the parts of myself is important to me and a message I would promote. Add to that being gentle with myself in this dry season.
You can check next week to see if this has passed.
